2023 Regional Adolescents Health Indaba RAHi

Over the years, the Regional Adolescent Health Indaba has been a huge success and young people have resolved to continue with the same momentum. This has happened with support from various partners including but not limited to;

The Ministry of Health, National AIDS Council, UNAIDS, PEPFAR Zambia, Hivos – SRHR Regional Fund, SRHR Africa Trust, AfriYAN ESA, Churches Health Association of Zambia, UNESCO and UNFPA.

In 2016, 55,000 adolescents between the ages of 10-19 had died through AIDS-related causes.With the number of young people due to double in Africa by 2050, increased efforts will be needed to avoid new infections among young people from rising. That is because, even if the progress in reducing the HIV incidence rate among young people is maintained, the estimated number of new HIV infections among adolescents is projected to climb to 270,000 annually by 2025 and 300,000 annually by 2030
ZYP with support from some key partners in the ESA region will be hosting the RAHi 2023 in Lusaka Zambia.
